About Me

So, who am I? And why did I create a website?

Let’s start with the basics—my name is Zion, and I was searching for a way to present myself to the world. To be honest, I never really connected with social media, but at the same time, I did want people to get to know me. After gaining academic and professional experience, I wanted to introduce myself in a way that truly reflected who I am and would support my journey toward achieving my goals.

Over three years ago, I completed a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management at SCE College in Be’er Sheva. I chose the Project Management track, aiming to integrate my passion for building and managing processes from a holistic perspective. I particularly connected with courses on data-driven decision-making and statistics, where I learned how to integrate insights from multiple disciplines into a comprehensive view of a project or process. The most valuable takeaway from my degree was learning how to continuously improve and always seek the most efficient way to get things done.

For my final project, I focused on data-driven decision-making. The project involved developing an automated trading strategy for the NASDAQ stock market, with an emphasis on day trading. The first stage involved analyzing financial reports of major NASDAQ-listed companies—specifically the FAAGN group—to gain a deep understanding of their economic indicators. The next stage was researching algorithmic trading and learning how it works, including the technical indicators used to detect market trends. I then combined both approaches—fundamental analysis and technical indicators—and used historical data to build a trading strategy. Based on that strategy, I developed a trading algorithm and performed backtesting using historical market data. Finally, I optimized the algorithm based on the results and concluded the research.

From there, I sought a position that would allow me to draw actionable insights from data—and a Business Analyst role was the perfect fit. For about a year, I worked as a Business Analyst at the headquarters of HOT Mobile. Thanks to the generous support of the department head—who gave me full freedom to learn and grow—I initiated a project to revamp the way company data was presented. I tailored reports to their intended audiences and simplified complex data into clear, accessible visuals. For example, I turned a cluttered sales table into intuitive charts and dashboards. I also automated reports for various departments, including HOT's parent company. My responsibilities included building KPI reports, contributing to budget planning, and presenting weekly updates to senior management. This role was truly a perfect match for me.

Sometimes in life, you have to take risks—at least that’s what successful people say. So I listened and took a leap of faith by leaving that job to pursue a venture I was passionate about. I created a mobile app focused on easy-to-follow guides for various topics. The idea came to me when I needed to replace my kitchen faucet. At first, it seemed like a daunting task and I considered hiring a professional. But after a bit of research, I realized I could do it myself—and I did, in less than 90 minutes. That experience made me realize I wasn't alone. Many people doubt their ability to handle basic tasks that are actually well within reach. The app is called Do4Me, and anyone can download it to discover just how much they’re capable of doing on their own.

Eventually, I reached a point where I had to reduce the risk and return to the job market. I decided to step out of my comfort zone and apply for a position in a field where I had no prior experience—logistics and industrial operations. I won’t lie, warehouse management wasn’t exactly my dream job. But managing a modern, tech-driven Amazon-style warehouse? That was intriguing. I was fortunate to land a position at Israel’s most advanced logistics center. Austrian company Knapp built an automated picking and distribution center for Shufersal, and it still excites me every day. After COVID, we all became familiar with online grocery orders, and it’s rare to find someone who hasn’t seen a store picker in action. When the recruiter from Shufersal told me about the position, I was thrilled. There’s a company in Israel that has taken warehousing to the next level—automating everything from inventory picking to customer delivery.

Today, I serve as the System Manager at Shufersal Online's distribution center in Kadima. I’m responsible for overseeing the intelligent system built by Knapp, using data and tools to monitor everything from goods receipt to final delivery. I’m involved in every stage of the process and constantly ensure smooth operations without exceptions. Beyond day-to-day monitoring, I also use system data to suggest improvements and optimizations, in addition to managing routine reporting. The center operates non-stop (except on Shabbat), 24/6—and there’s never a dull moment.

אז מי אני? ולמה פתחתי אתר? נתחיל מזה שקוראים לי ציון וחיפשתי דרך להציג את עצמי לעולם. לא אשקר אני פחות מתחבר לרשתות החברתיות אך מצד שני אני כן רוצה שיכירו אותי. לאחר לימודים וניסיון מקצועי שצברתי חיפשתי דרך להציג את עצמי באופן שאהיה שלם איתו, ושיעזור לי לנסות להגשים את השאיפות שלי.

לפני יותר משלוש שנים סיימתי תואר ראשון בהנדסת תעשייה וניהול במכללת SCE שבבאר שבע. המסלול שבחרתי בתואר היה ניהול פרויקטים בשאיפה לתת מקום לרצון שלי לבנות ולנהל תהליכים באופן שלם ממגוון זוויות. התחברתי מאוד לקורסים של קבלת החלטות מבוססי נתונים וסטטיסטיקה ולאופן שבו מחברים נקודות מנושאים מרובים לכדי ראיה כוללת של התהליך או הפרויקט. הדבר המרכזי שלקחתי מהתואר הם הכלים ללמוד ולהשתפר כל הזמן ותמיד לחפש את האופן היעיל ביותר לבצע משימות.

בפרויקט הגמר שלי בחרתי להתמקד בהסקת מסקנות מנתונים, כך שניתן לקבל החלטות לפיהן. הפרויקט עסק במסחר אוטומטי בבורסת נאסד"ק האמריקאית בהתמקדות על מסחר יומי. בשלב הראשון חקרתי את הפן הכלכלי של חברות הנסחרות בנאסד"ק מתוך הדוחות המתפרסמות לציבור. התמקדתי בחברות הגדולות (FAAGN) וניתחתי את המדדים הכלכליים שלהם לעומק. שלב שני היה התמקדות להכיר את המסחר האוטומטי והאופן בו הוא מתבצע, כולל הבנת האינדיקטורים השונים שעוזרים להבין מגמות בשוק המניות. השלב הבא היה שילוב בין החקר הכלכלי של החברות לבין האינדיקטורים במסחר היומי. בחנתי את נתוני העבר של אותן חברות ולפי זה בניתי אסטרטגיית מסחר. לפי אותה אסטרטגיה פיתחתי אלגוריתם מסחר שאותו בדקתי על נתוני המסחר הקודמים של אותן החברות (back testing). בשלב האחרון ביצעתי אופטימיזציה של האלגוריתם בהתבסס על התוצאות שהתקבלו. מכאן הגעתי למסקנות ולסיכום כל עבודת המחקר.

בהמשך לכך חיפשתי משרה שנותנת ביטוי להסקת מסקנות מתוך נתונים, וכמובן שאנליסט עסקי עונה להגדרה הזאת באופן שלם. במשך כשנה הייתי חלק מצוות המטה העסקי של חברת הוט מובייל בתפקיד אנליסט עסקי. בעזרתו הנדיבה של ראש המטה, שנתן לי יד חופשית ללמוד והשתפר, התחלתי פרויקט של שינוי אופן הצגת נתוני החברה שהיו באחריותי. התאמתי את הדוחות לפי קהל היעד שלו ועבדתי על הפשטת הצגת הנתונים באופן שיהיה קריא וברור. למשל, דשבורד נתוני המכירות שהיה מוצג בטבלה מסורבלת עבר ויזואליזציה לגרפים ותרשימים פשוטים להבנה. בנוסף לכך הוספתי תהליך של אוטומטיזציה לדוחות שהיו מוגשים לכלל מחלקות החברה, בניהם לחברת האם "הוט". כחלק מתחומי האחריות שלי בניתי דוחות KPI, השתתפתי בבניית התקציב והצגתי מצגת אחת לשבוע להנהלת החברה. אין ספק משרה ישבה עליי בול.

לפעמים בחיים צריך לקחת סיכונים, ככה האנשים המצליחים מספרים. אז הקשבתי להם ולקחתי סיכון גדול ועזבתי את המשרה כדי לנסות לבנות מיזם שמאוד משך אותי לנסות אותו. בניתי אפליקציה למובייל שמתמקדת במדריכים פשוטים במגוון נושאים. הרעיון עלה לי ברגע שהייתי צריך להחליף את הברז הביתי שלי בבית. בהתחלה המשימה נראתה לי לא פשוטה ורציתי לקרוא לאיש מקצוע, אך לאחר בחינה של הנושא הבנתי שאני אוכל לעשות זאת בעצמי. לאחר שהצלחתי להחליף את הברז הבנתי עד כמה הייתה רחוקה המחשבה שלי לעומת הביצוע בפועל שלא לקחת יותר משעה וחצי של עבודה. מכאן הבנתי שאני לא היחיד שחווה פערים כאלה ויש אפשרות להכניס אנשים נוספים למעגל של עבודה עצמית שלעיתים נראית קשה עד בלתי אפשרית. קוראים לאפליקציה Do4Me וכל מיש רוצה יכול להוריד אותה ולהבין שיש דברים רבים שהוא יכול לעשות בעצמו.

הגיע השלב שבו הייתי צריך להפסיק את הסיכון והבנתי שאני צריך לחזור לשוק העבודה. החלטתי לצאת מאזור הנוחות שלי ולחפש משרה שאין לי בה ניסיון. תחום הלוגיסטיקה והתעשייה והבנת התהליכים בתחום הזה היה זר לי וחיפשתי משרה שתחשוף אותי לתחום. לא אשקר ניהול מחסן זו לא משרת החלומות שלי, אך עם זאת ניהול מחסן באמזון עם כל המודרניזציה שלה זה כן מפתה מאוד. לשמחתי הגעתי לניהול המחסן המתקדם ביותר בישראל. חברת קנאפ האוסטרית בנתה לשופרסל מרכז שילוח וליקוט אוטומטי שגורם לי להתרגש כל פעם מחדש. אחרי הקורונה כולנו מכירים את הזמנות האונליין של החברות הקמעונאיות, ונדיר למצוא מישהו שלא פגש בסופר את המלקטים לאותן הזמנות. ברגע שהמגייסת של שופרסל סיפרה לי על המשרה קפצתי מהתרגשות. יש בישראל חברה שלקחה צעד קדימה וכל ניהול המחסן, דרך ליקוט המוצרים ועד השילוח ללקוח הוא אוטומטי וחכם.

כרגע אני אחראי מערכת במרכז השילוח של שופרסל אונליין בקדימה. תחום אחריותי הוא ניהול המערכת החכמה שבנתתה חברת קנאפ ושימוש בכלים והנתונים של המערכת מקבלת הסחורה ועד יציאת ההזמנות ללקוחות. אני מעורב בכל שלבי התהליך ועליי לבחון ולהשגיח באופן רציף שאין חריגות ובעיות. בנוסף אנו עושים שימוש בנתוני המערכת להצעות שיפור וייעול בלי קשר לדוחות השוטפים של המעקב והבקרה שגם הם חלק מהאחריות שלנו. מרכז השילוח עובד באופן רציף (בלי שבת כמובן) 24/6 ואין רגע דל.
